Privacy Policy

Effective 1 September 2026 · SWU ("SWU", "we", "us")

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

1. What we collect

Mobile phone number	It is your account. We send a one-time code to it to prove the number is yours.
First name, date of birth, city	To build your profile and to enforce our 18+ requirement.
Profile details you choose to add — height, job, school, religion, and similar	To show on your profile and to filter who you are shown. Every one of these is optional.
Photos you upload	To show on your profile.
Approximate location	To show you people within your chosen distance. Stored as a coarse coordinate, never as an address.
Messages you send your match	To deliver them, and to investigate reports of abuse.
Device push token	To send you notifications, if you allow them.

2. Text messages

We use SMS for one purpose: sending a one-time verification code when you sign in. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages, and there is no way to opt in to receiving any. Full details are on our SMS terms page.

Your phone number and your consent to receive that code are never sold, rented, or shared for anyone else's marketing. They are shared only with the telecommunications provider that delivers the message on our behalf, and only to deliver it.

3. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that make the app work, and only to the extent each one needs:

Supabase — hosts the database, your photos, and authentication.
Twilio — delivers your verification code by SMS.
Expo and Google Firebase — deliver push notifications.

We also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to investigate a safety report.

4. What other people see

Your phone number is never shown to another user. Your profile — name, age, photos, prompts, and whichever optional details you chose to make visible — is shown to people whose preferences you match and who match yours. Your exact location is never shown; other people see only an approximate distance.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your profile while your account exists. Delete your account and we remove your profile, photos, and messages within 30 days, except where we must keep a record to comply with the law or to enforce a safety ban.

6. Your choices

Edit or remove any profile field at any time, in the app under You → Edit profile.
Turn off any category of push notification under You → Settings.
Request a copy of your data, or its deletion, by emailing us.
Stop verification texts at any time by replying STOP. You will not be able to sign in afterwards, because the code is how signing in works.

7. Children

SWU is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account, and we check the date of birth you give us against that. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if we learn we have, we delete it.

8. Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to your data is restricted at the database level, so one account cannot read another's messages or profile fields. No system is perfect, and we will tell you promptly if a breach affects you.

9. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and we will notify you in the app before any change that materially affects you takes effect.
